Our innovation centre in the North East

Helixr is delighted to announce the opening of our new offices, the home of our Innovation Centre, in Darlington.

With it’s excellent transport links to both the North and South of the country and the recent investment in, and regeneration of, this growing market town, Darlington is well-placed to provide Helixr with the base it needs to grow.

Famous for being the home of the world’s first passenger railway, Darlington’s economy has been built on engineers and industrialists and more recently, business and professional services. It provides Helixr with a cost competitive location within the North East with access to a highly skilled local workforce in an established and expanding life sciences sector; it is also well placed for us to build development and training opportunities with a wealth of higher education providers such as the universities at Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teeside. With over £500 million of public and private sector investment attracted into the area over the last five years, Darlington is undergoing one of its most exciting periods of growth and we are proud to be a part of it.

In the field of life sciences, North East England has one of the most comprehensive infrastructures in the world, with everything needed to support life sciences activities based within the region – from initial research, product development and testing to clinical trials and production facilities. It has a broad range of medical technology and biotechnology companies with an extensive supply chain supporting the pharmaceutical industry – including drug discovery, custom synthesis, specialist bioprocessing and technical support firms.

Helixr recognises the importance of being based in the North East, close to the beating heart of the evolution of the life sciences sector in this area. It is an exciting time for both our customers and ourselves”.
